Vision

We began Upper Manhattan Forest Kids because we were inspired by Stephan’s early experience of forest kindergarten in Denmark and we really wanted that for our daughter in New York City.

Upper Manhattan Forest Kids leads outdoor classes based on the Danish Forest Kindergarten model for children up to 8 years old in New York City's parks.

By expanding the culture of urban forest schooling through class curricula and related products, we shift our relationship to the natural world and create a future of connection and abundance.

We are transparent in our commitment to supporting families with a space that allows young people to connect with nature and gain confidence in their self-expression. We encourage relationship-building between young people and outdoor learning in urban areas of the U.S., seeing that as a means to build early relationships with our planet and aid children's healthy development.
